Join children's author Christine Frances Poe for a special book reading & signing of "TIKKO TRAVELS Dorian's Story", an 8” x 8” soft-cover children’s storybook and source of comfort and reassurance for parents coming to terms with an autism diagnosis; who are seeking ways to broach the subject with their child. Celebrated for their "wonderful uniqueness, humour, imagination, and special gifts" children learn there is life beyond the label, and that anything is possible!
On Saturday, April 8th, to celebrate AUTISM AWARENESS MONTH Christine welcomes families to join her at Joshua Creek Heritage Art Centre at 2:00 p.m.; 1086 Burnhamthorpe Rd. E., Oakville, ON L6H 7B2. Reading will start shortly after 2:00 p.m. so please arrive early to secure a seat.
Books will be available for purchase at $20.00/book with proceeds funding Tikko's travels; and $3.00 from every book sold on site to support Joshua Creek Heritage Art Centre's ART FROM THE HEART EXHIBITION, an uplifting exhibition by special needs artists who wish to share their gifts and inspirations. . Books will also be available at Joshua Creek Heritage Art Centre throughout spring & summer.
The event will take place in the barn gallery, which is the main building. It is a relatively open concept space, and guests are welcome to explore the grounds too. Children need to be supervised outdoors as there is a creek and bee hives on site.
