Lee-Ann Webber of LEWS Lenses, Burlington, ON, is the mother of 2 wonderful children. Graduating from Sheridan College specializing in Early Childhood Education, it's no wonder Lee-Ann has a special place in her heart for children. Happily married for over 18 years, her contentment & joy are reflected in her pictures.
"My favourite hobbies are reading and taking pictures."
Perhaps Lee-Ann's gift for "reading" the situation gives her an edge when capturing the perfect moment on film; at birthday parties, showers, baptisms...any occasion creating memories to last a lifetime.
Whether it's scenic landscapes, family portraits, or in Tikko's case, an inspirational campaign, Lee-Ann's magic is reflected with every image.
"Being part of a great campaign means helping a friend spread the word about autism; showing my children that helping others makes you a better person. Dorian is trying to tell people it's ok to be different and that he's a boy who wants to be accepted for who he is no matter what."
“Everybody is a genius. But if you judge a fish by its ability to climb a tree, it will live its whole life believing that it is stupid.” ~ Anonymous
"Spending quality time with Dorian; taking pictures, gives me the opportunity to know him better; allowing me a better understanding of autism. Labels should not define any child, on the spectrum or otherwise. Labels can induce fear & stigma. Being sheltered from autism, people tend to judge too quickly. Having more compassion instead of negativity is key."
With her photography, Lee-Ann strives to capture the true inspiration behind Dorian & Tikko's story.
"I hope by reading the attached captions, people will take their messages to heart; changing the way they see autism spectrum disorder. It is an honour to be a part of this campaign; knowing my passion is making a difference for families living with autism."
